Are the Microblading Before and Afters You See Online Real?

Something I have noticed more and more recently is clients coming to me with photographs of microblading results they would like me to recreate, only for me to realise that the photograph itself may not actually be real.

Some of the microblading before and after pictures I see online have clearly been created or altered using AI, while others appear to have been heavily edited or doctored. There are also practitioners and businesses using photographs belonging to other artists and presenting them as their own work.

I completely understand why this is confusing. If you don’t work in microblading or semi-permanent makeup, it can be incredibly difficult to tell the difference, particularly now that AI-generated images can look so convincing.

This is why, if you are considering microblading in London, I always encourage you to spend some time looking through an artist’s work before deciding what you would like. Look at lots of photographs rather than just the handful used in an advert or on a website homepage.

Every photograph on the LondonBrowClinic website and Instagram is of a real client and my actual microblading work. I have been specialising exclusively in microblading for over 11 years, so there are thousands of genuine examples to look through.

Real microblading has nuances. Skin texture, natural hair growth, healing, lighting and individual brow anatomy all affect the finished result. No two pairs of brows will ever be identical, and sometimes a result that looks beautiful in a photograph simply isn’t achievable on another person’s skin or bone structure.

I would much rather a client bring me a real photograph of a brow they genuinely love and we talk honestly about what is possible, than promise a result based on an image that was never real in the first place.

So, if you are looking for microblading in London, please take your time. Look carefully at the before and afters, look for consistency, look at healed work where possible, read the reviews and make sure you know whose hands are actually creating the brows.
