When “Award-Winning” Doesn’t Always Mean Personal

This week, I welcomed a new client into the studio for a correction appointment after she’d previously had her brows done elsewhere.
She told me she had specifically chosen one of the large, well-known clinics because they advertised being trained by a Phi Brow Master. She assumed that meant she was guaranteed the very best results — and understandably, she paid a premium price expecting exactly that.
But when she arrived at my clinic, she admitted she left that appointment feeling disappointed, and honestly… a little like a number in a production line.
The hardest part for her wasn’t even the money.
It was the feeling that the brows she received looked nothing like the beautiful, natural healed results shown across their website and social media.
Unfortunately, this is something I hear more often than people realise.
The Reality Behind Large Brow Clinics
Big clinics often have strong branding, huge followings, and impressive titles attached to their names. And while training and qualifications absolutely matter, they don’t automatically guarantee that every artist within that clinic will produce the same level of work you see advertised online.
Many clients assume they are booking the artist behind the results they fell in love with online — but often they’re booked with a technician they’ve never seen before.
That’s why one of the most important things when booking microblading is knowing exactly who will be working on your face.
Not just the clinic name.
Not just the academy name.
The actual artist.
Brows Are Personal
Microblading isn’t a one-size-fits-all treatment.
Your brows frame your face every single day, so the experience should feel personal from start to finish — not rushed, transactional, or overly clinical.
When clients come to me, they know:
Who will be carrying out their treatment
What my healed work actually looks like
My style and approach
The kind of natural results I specialise in
That they’ll be listened to throughout the appointment
I purposely keep my clinic personal because I believe clients deserve honesty, consistency, and care — not just marketing.
Choosing a Brow Artist vs Choosing a Brand
There’s nothing wrong with researching qualifications and training backgrounds. They matter.
But choosing a brow artist should go beyond certificates and titles.
Look for:
Consistent healed results
Natural-looking work
Honest reviews
Clear communication
An artist whose style matches what you want
A clinic where you feel seen and heard
The truth is, beautiful brows come from experience, attention to detail, and artistry — not just a logo or a training badge.
Correction Work Requires Experience
Correcting previous microblading is delicate work.
In this client’s case, the shape lacked softness, the strokes had healed unevenly, and the overall look felt harsher than she originally wanted. My focus was creating balance again and giving her brows a softer, more natural finish that actually suited her features.
Correction appointments often come with a lot of emotion too. Clients can lose confidence after a bad experience, especially when they invested so much trust — and money — the first time around.
That’s why creating a calm, supportive environment matters just as much as the technical work itself.
The Most Important Thing? Trust
The right clinic shouldn’t make you feel like another appointment slot.
You should feel confident in who you’re booking with, comfortable asking questions, and reassured that the artist genuinely cares about your result — not just getting another client through the door.
Because when it comes to your face, personal experience will always matter more than big promises.
